I am passionate about:
I continue to be motivated by social justice, both on a global and on a local level. I am raising two teenagers to be engaged and thoughtful about the issues of our times, and am doing my best to model personal accountability and responsibility. We live on an incredible island in the Puget Sound, where values such as kindness, community and creativity are celebrated. I'm grateful to be able to regularly access natural beauty, intelligent conversation, political activism and plenty of culture.
I began my career in the non-profit social justice sphere; I served in the Peace Corps, worked as a legal advocate for the homeless in New York City, did qualitative research with the World Bank's Africa Region, and was a loan administrator for a low-income housing fund in the San Francisco Bay Area. To this end I earned a masters in Social Change and Development at Johns Hopkins in 1995.
My second act has been as a leadership coach and consultant, working largely with women. I'm an ICF-certified coach and had a thriving private practice for a decade. I am recently in-house at Cambia Health Solutions, a tax-paying non-profit dedicated to transforming health care by creating a person-focused and economically sustainable health care system. My role as Leadership Development Program Manager enables me to assist our emerging leaders in developing their appetite and capacity for adaptive change.
