I am passionate about:
I'm committed to improving educational experiences and outcomes for kids that are marginalized - in particular students of color, with disabilities who experience an opportunity gap because of their socio-economic status. My own identity as a person with a disability both informs and drives this passion.
Kristen Wong Callisto, EdLD, M.Ed., currently works for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards as the Director of Outreach and Organizational Learning. She focuses on fiscal, operational and strategic management.Before her work at the National Board, Kristen oversaw student services (i.e. special education, 504, gifted and talented, etc.) in several low-income communities of Hawai’i. She began her career in education as a Teach for America charter corps member of the Hawai’i region after graduating from Dartmouth College. She received her master’s in education from the University of Hawai’i-Manoa in special education and her doctor of education leadership degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education.

My background in education and current work in non profits are obvious choices. I am a curious person and love being a thought partner for anything as long as people don't mind additional questions being asked to help me up the learning curve.
